We are the same, yet very different people now. . . . We don't consider ourselves ex-jws anymore. Just 2 people that happened to grow up in a cult, woke up and left. We very rarely talk about it anymore. Just passing comments from time to time.

But even Christianity, in it’s many definitions, has a sorted history, which is seldom talked about and often dismissed.
Being picky here, but this guy supposedly has a masters in education and I expect better: Christianity could have a sordid history; I'm not sure what it means to have a sorted one.

for those active jws, there is a new program in place where publishers who frequent and 'witness' on apostate websites will receive triple time!
that's right, for every hour you spend on an apostate site you may count three hours (hazard pay) just let your service committee know you're interested in this new program and you may be approved to receive triple time!.

I totally posted this as a goof. I think that at the time there was a huge influx of “hit-and-run” posters signing up here and trying to convince everyone we made a huge mistake. There must of been some special “campaign” going on at the time as well.
Funny: it was the summer of 2011, and 2014 was just a few years away. No way the end wouldn’t come before the 100 year anniversary of the Invisible Kingdom! And here we are still. . . .

of the 50% of congregants who regularly participate, many of them give gushing answers about how appreciative they are, how wonderful jw.org is and so on, which makes me think nobody in my congregation is awake.
but maybe it's possible for someone who comes across as super spiritual to be awake?

I think PUNK's comment is spot on, but this is regarding someone with doubts.
As for those awakening/awakened (e.g. my wife) they do not comment at all, let alone give gushing comments.
I think my wife would rather vomit.
i've been watching quite a bit of gb member stephen lett on youtube recently (no, i'm not thinking of going back to the jws).. i just find him compulsive viewing, like when people slow down to see a car crash.
i find his facial expressions and intonation spell-binding.. it reminds me a bit of john carpenter's the thing, a film where an alien life-form infects a host and imitates it, spreading throughout camps of remote workers in the antarctic.
if i were a bethelite living in close proximity to lett, i'd be thinking about giving him the blood test to see if he was normal, lol.. why does lett speak in public the way he does?
He speaks like that because one of his family members growing up had a hearing and speech problem. So he exaggerates his speech in because that is how he grew up so that, the family member could understand him.
